I was born in Springfield Massachusetts in 1974, spending most of my early years fishing and camping in New England with my mom, dad and sister, constantly asking them questions about the natural world. In 1993, I finally found my ticket under the waves and became a certified diver during my first semester in college. In 2001 I became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and spent several years running international dive travel, teaching scuba certification classes, earning myself the moniker "Scuba Scott". My adventure travels have taken me all over the globe and into almost every marine environment imaginable.
Before long, my family moved to Maryland where my focus turned to the Chesapeake Bay and the coast of Delmarva, where I fished, surfed and explored the coast every chance I got. As long as I was on, in, or near the water, I was happy. To help satisfy my obsession with the ocean I got
involved volunteer programs with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, The National Aquarium in Baltimore, as well as numerous others.

Today, I still live in Maryland with my wife and daughter, surfing, diving, fishing, eating crabs and sharing my insight into the natural world with anyone willing to listen. These pages are a few samples of the things that keep me looking for the next great discovery under, on, or near the waves.
